Just curious, what is the life expactancy of a clutch in city driving conditions.

I have a 2006 M6 V6 5spd.  3600miles and just recently I started feeling that the clutch is not as it used to be.  I used to be able to park my car with no gas at all, now I can still do it but its much tougher, its much easier for the car to chocke.

Any remarks on this, also what would you guys think would be a decent price I would be able to get if I chose to sell it.  There are no particular extra options just V6, manual trans, cloth seats.

Thanks in advance.

I bought my 6 with 30K on the odometer & it is now at 63K & I have not changed the clutch yet.

Clutch/brake life depends a lot on how you drive.  But 3,600 miles seems too soon.  A badly wore clutch should actually make it easier for you to park the car with just the idling engine because the slipping reduce the load to the engine.

Thanks that is rather interesting, as I noticed that the car does not speed up as fast as it used to as well, the change is slight but noticeable, even its just noticeable for me, how would you go about diagnicing the problem further.
