My wife''s 05 Tribute is making  clicking noise, which seems to come from the left front wheel. It only seems to make the noise when she makes a left turn. At first I couldn''t hear it but I don''t drive it too much, but now I can hear it. It''s not a grinding noise, just ticking. I took the wheel of and noticed a gear between the rotor and the boot with a sensor on top of it. I suspect it is a low brake pad sensor or maybe something with the boot. I inspected the brake pads and they still have about 1/4 inch left. I justed wanted to know if one of you ran into that before, before i buy brake pards and thry them first.

Thanks

I wouldn''t think it would be a CV joint gone bad, being a 2005, unless you have 150K+ miles on it...however, clicking when going around a turn is an indication of that.

The gear/sensor combo is probably related to the Anti-lock Brake system.
