Cigarette lighter doesn't work- please help

A friend plugged his car charger into my cigarette lighter and ever since then, it hasn't worked.  Any ideas?  I would like to be able to plug in my Sirius receiver, but without the cigarette lighter to power it, I can't.  It makes me sad :(

have you checked the fuses?

Ivy, if you check fuses and all are OK but cigarette lighter is still not working, then there may be built-in fuse in the socket (female part) of your lighter – please see enclosed picture.
