Does anyone know what code P1512 is for? Autozone told me it was a manufacturers code and I would need to have the dealership look at it.

P1512 means that the computer has determined that the Intake Manifold Runner Control shutter valve is stuck closed. Couple of pics below to show you the location of valves as well as the actuator cable and where the cable connects to the intake manifold area. With the engine at operating temperature. Raise the rpm to over 4000 and the cable should pull the actuator link in the bottom picture above that rpm.

Good information. Thanks babyhuey!!
I had the CEL reset and it hasn't come back on. The engine appears to be running fine. Should I be very concerned about this problem?

No, there is no reason to be concerned about the code. The IMRC system is only there to change the length of the intake runners to take advantage of the intake air pulses and give a tad more high end power. If you do not notice a power difference then why worry.

I'm sorry I don't quite understand the procedures that were explained on how to fix the code P1512 on my 2000 MPV as well. Do you just give the actuator cable a tug while someone pedals the engine to 4000 rpm? Any additional detail or even pictures would greatly help. Thanks!!!

I am having the same problem. I replaced the IMRC/VTCS and it did not fix my problem. Any suggestions??
