Ok Im new, but if anyone can help me out, i would really apprieciate it. I have a 99 B300, v6, flex fuel (peice). Ive had problems with the EGR valve and vacuum hoses that connect to it. I have been through 5 hoses, 3 egr valves, and lots of money being screwed by a really bad machanic! The hose keeps blowing off the connector and melting the egr valve. If anyone can give me a suggestion on whats going on, it would be greatly appriciated. Thanx

When the hoses blow off egr valve is there like a whistling noise coming from the hose nozzle that is open? If so I would bet the convertor in the exhaust system is partially clogged...

Is your truck harder to start than say 6 months ago? That and the noise would be a dead giveaway... Can you post a pic of the EGR valve and hose setup? It sounds like an older car problem I had years ago...

Keep us posted...good luck..

Yea it does make a whistleing when the hose popped off. I have someone checking out the cats right now. I think that maybe the problem. But what sucks is theyre only about 1 1/2 years old.
