the mounts on front wheel drive cars are always vulnerable. just to show how much the motor leans on them, get in the car, put it in first with the clutch in, rev up to about 3k rpm's and side step the clutch. the wheels will hop because the motor lashes in the engine compartment. simple fix. just get a set of urethane motor mounts from AWR. i did that to my protege and it was great after that. the stock motor mounts aren't designed to hold the pressure of aftermarket add-ons or burn-outs. that's why they go so quick.
