I have currently purchased a 2007 Madza3....I am 18 year old female from the east coast...My Mazda is bright red, with a little spoiler..but I love it, and right now I am on a warrently, so I am considering what I should do to my car while there is a warrently..If anybody has any ideas let me know....

Hey welcome aboard! I'm fairly new here as well, but I've frequented the mazda3forums.com site for a long time now. I have a 3 as well, and I'm from the East coast too. Where at are you?
As far as warranty goes, you have to be careful. I mean, technically you can do whatever you want to to your car. However, if it comes down to having something fixed under warranty by your dealership, they may give you a hard time. The best advice I can offer up to you, is that if you want to do big things (ie: messing with the engine or suspension) you are going to have to stick with Mazdaspeed parts. These can be more expensive than their counterparts, but the quality is high, and Mazda dealerships will honor your warranty if you use them.
Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to post up. See you around!

my dealership (up here in Canada) said they'd void my warranty if i did any aftermarket upgrades....but like craigy said, you'd probably have to stick with MazdaSpeed parts.....it's mostly cosmetic upgrades, but they do have coilovers, rims, stuff like that.....i tihnk i read that they're working on a cold air intake for the 3

Mazdaspeed already makes a cold air intake for the 3. Its been available for a long time now. Its essentially the AEM cold air intake. Just like the lowering springs are basically the same as the Eibach Prokit. It just has the Mazdaspeed branding on them, and therefore it doesn't void your warranty. They just cost more than their respective partners.

Well I doubt I will do anything to the Engine and Suspention because I don't know what I would be doing lol, but I am interested in Visual Upgrades...Rims, Tint...the works

Here's what she looks like:

My boyfriend did a photoshoot of it back in early Nov. so I got lots of nice pics of her

Adding visual upgrades aren't going to void your warranty. If they have a problem with the rims, just simply take them off, put your stockers back on, and have the work done... then just slap your aftermarket rims back on. Sometimes with aftermarket wheels, you won't pass inspection. I think most states only allow a plus 2 size change. Meaning, if you car comes stock with 17" rims, you are technically only able to put up to a 19" rim on the vehicle. It can mess up your odometer/speedometer and I think that is why. But, as far as tint and all that goes, it shouldn't void anything. Just check your local/state laws on window tinting to stay legal.

yeah. but what if you got into an accident with those non-stock rims.....mazda would void the warranty and you'd be screwed

and as for inspection, WHAT INSPECTION??? ive never heard of it....or do we not have those up in canada.

and for window tint, just say, it came from the factory like this, and the cops cant do shit, unless all your windows are like, black....

You guys don't have inspections in Canada? That's kinda weird. I guess its the United States way of checking up on us, making sure we are keeping our cars up to par and they aren't emitting too much pollution, and they are actually safe to drive around day to day.

Where here in Delaware we have laws for everything...I work at the dmv here in Delaware...We have to have a tint waiver filled out by our doctors before we can dark tint...like over 35%...Also, you are right about the wheels which isn't no big deal to me...Or we will fail inspection..

Well I am pretty sure....if the car is under warrently and I take to Pohanka mazda then they will inspect to see if there is anything that I have done under the hood...But, besides that I am pretty sure that they will not care about rims, tint, and yea...But, the only thing that matters is our dmv when it has to go through inspection..My tags are good for 5 years...So it isn't that big of a deal...But, in the state of Delaware police officers can pull you over and ask for a tint waiver...Yea I know it is pretty wrong..
