Hello to all i hope everyone is doing good, ok, heres my question, someone owes me money, and his brother have a 92 929 that wont start, now im no mechanic but i know enought, i went last week and crank to find the car wont start, so, it was stormy out last week and coulnt check any further, today went to diagnose more and thinking it sound like a timing belt cause the engine sounded diffrent when it crank, so i took the passager side timing belt cover partially off just removed the 2 top screws and thats the timing belt thats snap. my question is whats involve in replacing the belt, cause the car only has 80k on it and is amazingly clean. is it worth it for me to fix it, i mean if is not to much involve i dont have a shop that i can work on, and is getting cold out, any sugestions would be apreaciated.

Personaly if your not mechanicaly inclined i would not recommend that you change the timeing belt yourself... Its not like changeing the oil that takes about 5 minutes to learn...

Well I have replaced heads and even a whole engine in a car, so i think i can handle doing the timing belts, i was just asking whats the estimated time, to complete the job. i mention im not a mechanic but i do know a little lol, enought not to take my car to a butcher shop, thats what i call repair shops, i had work on one and i know the deal. anyway, if noone knows how long, ill go to the local library and pick up a repair manual. THanks anyway.
