Roadside assistance just towed it away, but I'd like to know if this has happened before! I have 22,000 miles on it, I know that's a lot since I haven't had it quite a year yet, but come on!! It's a 2005, I never expected I'd have problems so soon. The tow truck guy said this is the 2nd one he's towed in a month! I'd kind of like an inkling of what I might expect, so if anyone knows anything, please tell me!

I've started my 2005 Tribute about 6 times now, and it fired EVERY SINGLE TIME! I've only had it about 48 hours, so I'll see if my luck continues.

22,000 miles in less than a year...What, are you trying to blow out your warranty in 3 years? Mine came with the 6 year/75,000 extended. That's pretty sweet. I'm actually going to baby the miles on this SUV. My family lives 5 hours away, and my wifes lives 6 hours away, so we tend to put MANY miles traveling to see family. However, I'm going to try to travel as little as possible because I want this Tribute to stay under warranty for the entire 6 years, and then I'll trade it in for another one, or whatever else suits my family at the time.

My 2002 Tribute with just over 44,000 miles was towed over 3 weeks ago back to the dealer where it still sits. At 38 months it was 2 months out of warantee. I am told it has a broken rod and needs a new engine. This stinks! Any ideas?

I'd check for something wrong with the immobilizer system. I've seen a couple of them come in for that issue.

Hi,
Can you elaborate on the 'immobiliser system'. I have the Haynes manual and there is no such thing in there. I'd like to know how to check it out.
Thanks.
